Carry On England is a comedy set during World War II in the 1940's that was released in 1976. Captain S. Melly (Kenneth Connor) is assigned as a last resort to a unit of privates who have proven to be unruly and need order fully restored to their ranks and a reminder of why they are fighting in the war. To Captain Melly's dismay he does not receive the backing of his Sergeant Major "Tiger" Bloomer (Windsor Davies) when he becomes easily distracted instead of helping calm down the chaos that they both are surrounded by. Determined to set an example of the unit and return the base to its proper order Captain Melly decides to separate them from each other, surrounding the women's barracks with barbed wire. This too shows to only be a small obstacle as the men find an easy way to gain access to the women. Full of hilarious situations Captain Melly maintains his composure and continuously tries to outsmart the men and women of the unit hoping to make sure the army's last resort of sending him there is not a complete disaster.
