Carson City Raiders is the 1948 black and white Western which follows a desperate attempt to save a freight line. It's one of the thirty-eight Rocky Lane features, all of which follow the same hero and his trusty old-timer sidekick. Rocky Lane (Allan Lane) pledges to help Nugget Clark (Eddy Waller) see it to completion. However, a gang of stagecoach robbers aim to stop it. Dave Starky (Harold Goodwin) impersonates the infamous criminal Fargo Jack (Steve Darrell), making the film a bit of a who's who mystery. Meanwhile Sherriff Tom Drew is not who he seems to be. The film is filled with fist fights, stand offs, and horse chases as Rock and Nugget do everything they can to bring down the gang that is trying to undermine the line. Earle Snell wrote the screenplay directed by Yakima Canutt, a true Western of the old style that takes us back to great memories.
