Cash Crop, originally titled Harvest during its 1999 theatrical run, is a coming-of-age adventure drama directed by Stuart Burkin. The movie is set in Oxford, Pennsylvania, where the local farmers are cultivating marijuana to pay off their crushing debts and keep their farms operational. Andy Yates (Wil Horneff), an innocent teenager desperate to escape his small-town life, is shocked when he accidentally discovers that his prudish parents, Jake (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Alice (Lisa Emery), are involved in the marijuana production. When DEA agent Becka Anslinger (Mary McCormack) arrives in town, she begins an investigation with Sheriff Johnson (John Slattery) and they start raids on farms; everyone is under pressure to hide the illegal crop. As Anslinger and Johnson get closer to uncovering the marijuana, the Sheriff finds himself conflicted and must decide where his loyalties lie, with the law or with the farmers from the town he lives and works in.
