Rating:
PG-13
Catch and Release is a romantic comedy film directed by Susannah Grant that follows a young somewhat uptight woman, Gray (Jennifer Garner), whose life is turned upside when instead of marrying the man she loves, she ends up burying him after he dies in an accident during his bachelor party. Unable to afford the house he bought for their new life, Gray invites his best friends, Dennis (Sam Jaeger) and Sam (Kevin Smith), to live with her in both an attempt to survive and grieve. As they each fall apart in their own way, Gray discovers that her fianc'e, Grady, had a few secrets, including a hidden account that automatically sent money to a young woman, Maureen (Juliette Lewis) and her three-year-old son Mattie (Joshua Friesen). To make matters even more difficult, Sam has fallen into a destructive depression while Gray struggles with her hatred and growing attraction to another friend, Fritz (Timothy Olyphant). Catch and Release is a romantic look at what happens when life does not turn out the way it was initially planned and the changes a person makes to be happy.moreless
