Hanks provides the voice of Woody, an old-fashioned cowboy doll who loves nothing more than bringing joy to Andy, his owner. He's smart and responsible, the de facto leader of Andy's band of toys. Life is simple for Woody and his friends until Andy's seventh birthday, when a new action figure, Buzz Lightyear, joins the toy collection. Buzz, voiced by Tim Allen, is unaware he's a toy, thinking he's the heroic astronaut he's based on. When Andy's around, Buzz becomes the star of his games. When Andy's not around, Woody has to deal with Buzz's ridiculous attempts to return to outer space. After a misunderstanding that leaves the two action figures stranded in the human world, they'll have to put aside their differences and work together to make it back to Andy's room in one piece. Ramona and Beezus is a family film directed by Elizabeth Allen based on Beverly Cleary's book Beezus and Ramona that centers on the often exasperating but warming relationship of third grader Ramona Quimby (Joey King) and her older sister Beezus (Selena Gomez). Ramona is little more than a typical nine year old as her wild imagination and accident-prone nature tends to get her into some crazy adventures. To make things a little worse, she holds a big case of big sister envy as her older sister Beezus, who has been trying to catch the eye of her crush Henry Huggins (Hutch Dano), is smart, pretty, and just perfect in Ramona's eyes. As her mischief often backfires and embarrasses everyone, she tries to prove herself while her parents (John Corbett and Bridget Moynahan) face off against her third-grade teacher, Mrs. Meacham (Sandra Oh). A heart-warming story of sibling relationships, Ramona and Beezus is a lovely look at the sometimes hair pulling but affectionate love between siblings.moreless

Wall-E is a 2008 movie from Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, directed by Andrew Stanton. The film is about a robot named Wall-E, short for Waste Allocation Load Litter- Earth Class, one of many trash compactor left to clean up earth after mass consumerism left the planet covered in trash and humans were sent into space on “starliners.” The plan to salvage the planet has failed, but one Wall-E robot remains, having saved himself using parts from defunct Wall-Es and apparently developed the ability to feel, as shown by his keeping of a pet cockroach, collecting trinkets, watching Hello Dolly, and keeping a living plant he finds. He soon meets Eve, a probe robot sent to find signs of plant life, and falls in love with her. He saves her from a dust storm in the truck boot he lives in, where she finds his plant, which she is programmed to take and store inside her body and shut down, allowing the ship who sent her out to locate her and take her back. He follows her onto her ship, where humans have become morbidly obese due to inactivity. The captain finds that the plant supposedly in Eve's body is missing and considers her inactive, sending her to be repaired, leading Wall-E to think she's being hurt and going to save her. He causes chaos that leads to them being designated as “rogue robots, but before they are caught they find that Auto, the robot controlling the ship, stole the plant so that humans would not return to Earth, and wants to destroy Wall-E as well. Wall-E and Eve must figure out a way to tell the captain that it's safe to return to Earth, without being destroyed, or worse- stripped of the personalities and affection for each other they've developed.moreless

The Addams Family are still creepy, kooky, and altogether spooky, and they're back in their very own movie. In this TV show turned epic caper, Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) comes back to town after a twenty-five year jaunt in the Bermuda Triangle. He shows up with a companion who is also a professional psychiatrist, Dr. Greta Pinder-Schloss (Elizabeth Wilson). The family happily welcomes them. It's hard to call something strange in this already strange family, but Fester is behaving oddly. Thing is the one who points out how normal he seems, and clearly normal isn't right. Nevertheless, Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Huston) proceed with plans to throw a party for the living and dead alike. Fester and his friend start to show an uncommon interest in the Addams family fortune, but the Addams are oddly accommodating. Somewhere between quirky and eccentric, this flick satisfies the curiosity of those who remember classic TV.moreless
