How to Train Your Dragon is a 2010 3D computer-animated fantasy film from DreamWorks Animation, based on the 2003 book of the same name. Dragons plague the Viking island of Berk, stealing the villagers' livestock and burning their homes. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III (voice of Jay Baruchel) is a scrawny teenage boy with a knack for invention and an aspiration to become a successful dragon slayer. Not only would that prove his worth, but it would also impress the competitive, and cute, Astrid Hofferson (America Ferrera). But when Hiccup succeeds in catching his first dragon, and the most dangerous one in the area at that, something strange happens: he doesn't want to kill it! Hiccup feels bad for the dragon and decides to take care of it instead, naming it Toothless and befriending it. It turns out that the dragons aren't just the victimizers: they are being victimized by a bigger dragon who threatens to eat them if they do not do as he wants. Can they work together to make a happy ending for everyone? How to Train Your Dragon was both a critical and ocmmercial success.moreless

Shrek is a 2001 American computer animated comedy film from DreamWorks Animation, featuring the voice talents of Mike Meyers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and John Lithgow. Loosely based on William Steig's 1990 fairy tale picture book of the same title, the film is about a mean, old ogre, Shrek (Mike Meyers) who finds true love in a very unexpected place. When Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow), the reigning lord with a small stature and a large Napoleon's complex, disturbs Shrek's peaceful life in his swamp, the only way that Shrek can reestablish order is if he fetches the cursed Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) from her tower and brings her to Lord Farquaad, to become his bride. Shrek will do anything for some peace and quiet, so off he goes to rescue the princess. Much to his displeasure, he finds himself saddled with a talkative donkey, Donkey (Eddie Murphey), along the way. Though it isn't easy, Shrek and Donkey manage to 'rescue' Princess Fiona. But that's where the real adventure starts'it turns out that Princess Fiona has a mind of her own, and a closet full of skeletons to match! Shrek was hugely popular, sparking the creation of two sequels.moreless
