    Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a 1968 children's musical film set in England during the 1910s. Caractacus meets Truly Scrumptious (Sally Ann Howes), a beautiful upper-class woman, when she brings the children home after she finds them skipping school. The children turn their father's attention to a wrecked Grand Prix motorcar that is about to be sold to the local junkman. Caractacus joins a song-and-dance act to raise the money for the car. Since the staff will arrive unannounced, Grant has to be extra nice to anyone who looks like they could be on the staff, so he finds himself giving star treatment to Lord Rutledge (Rupert Everett) who is actually a jewel thief who has come to the hotel to take advantage, he brings his pet orangutan, Dunston, who has been trained to steal. It was later directed and written by Vic Finch, Paul Leather, Emma Lindley, Brian Simmons, Nigel P Harris, and various others. It was narrated originally by Toyah Willcox and then by Tom Wright. All the actors in Brum did not speak. Instead they mimed and the story was propelled by off screen narration. One of the scientists involved in Daryl's creation feels that the program is immoral and sets Daryl free. Daryl is found roaming the streets by an elderly couple and is taken to live in an orphanage. Eventually, Daryl goes to live with foster parents, Joyce (Mary Beth Hurt) and Andy Richardson (Michael McKean). Daryl and the Richardsons slowly begin to form a strong bond, and Daryl learns human emotions that he has never felt before.
