Cats Don't Dance is an animated family film that tells the story of an ambitious cat trying to become a Hollywood star. It's the year 1939, Danny the cat (Scott Bakula) gets off a bus from Indiana and makes his way down Hollywood Blvd to find a casting agent. He befriends Pudge the penguin (Matthew Herried) while singing and dancing Fred Astair's classic, "I'm singing in the rain" along the way. Farley Wink (Frank Welker) hires Danny and immediately casts him in Darla Dimple's (Ashley Peldon) new film. He also meets a mischievous cat working for Farley named Sawyer (Jasmine Guy), who Danny likes instantly. During the shoot, Danny's only line turns into a song and dance routine that pleases the director but upstages Darla. The cute child actress's true colors appear as she stops production with a mean nasty tantrum. Woolly the Elephant, the studio's mascot, then educates Danny on an animal's role in Hollywood. Danny decides to hold a meeting with all the Hollywood pets, including Sawyer to remind them why they got into acting. They decide to create a grand song and dance routine to show movie producers what they can really do. Unfortunately, Darla finds out about the scheme and has other plans for her animal friends.moreless
