Caxambu, a 1967 film directed by W. Lee Wilder, takes place in the jungles of Brazil. As the movie begins, a group of thieves, Vince Neff (John Ireland), Peggy Garrat (Carol Ohmart), and Emil Garrat (Keith Larsen), commandeer a plane filled with sparkling diamonds. While the thieves dream of a life of wealth and ease, the plane crashes into the Amazonian jungles in Caxambu. Stumbling about the jungle, they quickly meet up with blood thirsty headhunters. Other dangers arise, including alligator attacks and quicksand, and paranoia sets in, causing them to turn on each other. Other characters in this adventure movie include Simon (Gordon Blackman), Jose (Lucien Pan), Rudy (Ben Perez), Missionary I (Joseph de Cordova), Missionary II (Isidoro Rueda), Cherry Blossom (Irene Brown), and Witch Doctor (Joaquin Fajardo).The movie was filmed on location and features some great jungle scenes. The movie has rarely been seen except at drive-in theaters and on late night shows on television.
