Movie Summary

Nikhil Advani
Chandni Chowk To China is one of the most famous films to surface in Hindi cinema, or, Bollywood. It is also the first Hindi film Warner Bros. produced. The film, directed by Nikhil Advani and released in 2009, is a comedic tale of a man who desperately seeks a greater purpose in life. Sidhu (Akshay Kumar) cooks food on a food stand on the side of the road in Delhi. He is more than miserable with his current state of affairs. He constantly searches for a greater meaning in life. He contacts psychics and astrologers in an effort to better understand his intended path, or, destiny. One day, Sidhu is approached by two Chinese men at his food stand. They claim he is a reincarnated hero of war and ask him to accompany them on their trip back to their village in China, where a ruthless thief by the name of Hojo (Gordon Liu) is wrecking havoc. The Chinese men expect Sidhu to rid their town of Hojo, however, thanks to an inaccurate translation made by his friend Chopstick (Ranvir Shorey), Sidhu is under the impression he is going to a foreign land where he will be worshiped and treated as king. What ensues is an adventurous story full of comedy and action. Be sure to catch this great Bollywood film!moreless
