The Bonners seances have drawn the interest of Chan's own daughter, Frances Chan, who witnesses a murder in the Bonner home. When the medium ends up dead as well, it's up to Chan to sort through the smoke and mirrors to find a motive and catch the killer before he gets Frances too. Charlie's right hand man, Mantan Moreland (Birmingham Brown), is on the scene to help Charlie solve the murders in any way he can. The suspects are a strange assortment of occultists and spiritualists who specialize in being deceitful. How does Charlie get Frances out of this mess and solve the mystery?
