Charlotte's Web is an animated film that begins with the birth of a litter of pigs on the Arable farm. John Arable (John Stephenson), the farm's owner, sees that one of the pigs is a runt, making him believe the pig should be killed. When John's daughter Fern (Pamelyn Ferdin) learns of her father's plan, she rescues the pig, telling her father he should not be killed because he is small. Initially, John allows Fern to keep the pig and she names him Wilbur (Henry Gibson). But once the other pigs are sold, John informs Fern that Wilbur will be given to her uncle, Homer Zuckerman (Bob Holt). Wilbur is upset about leaving, feeling as if he will never find a friend as loyal as Fern. One day in the barn of his new home, he hears something talking to him. This turns out to be a spider named Charlotte (Debbie Reynolds). Charlotte and Wilbur quickly become friends, singing songs and talking about cheerful things. Their friendship becomes short-lived when tragedy strikes. Watch Charlotte's Web to find out what this tragedy is.
