Charro! is a 1969 western directed by Charles Warren. In 1870, Jess Wade (Elvis Presley) is a former outlaw who is trying to live a more normal, crime-free life. When he learns that his ex-girlfriend Tracy Winters (Ina Balin) wants to see him again, he excitedly heads to a Mexican saloon to meet with her. Unfortunately, he discovers that the meeting is a set-up by the old gang members he had left many months prior. Led by brothers Vince (Victor French) and Billy Roy Hackett (Solomon Sturges), the criminals proceed to ambush Jess and take him into the mountains. They then tell him that they have stolen the famous Victory Gun, a gold cannon used in the Franco-Mexican War of the 1860s. After Jess learns that they have framed him for the crime, he flees to the nearby town of Rio Seco to ask Sheriff Ramsey (James Almanzar) and Tracy for help. When the gang threatens to destroy the small town with the cannon, Jess must band together with the citizens and try to stop them.
