Chasing Papi is a romantic comedy released in 2003 that centers around a scandalous love triangle between four latino people. The movie was written by Linda Mendoza (The Chris Rock Show, The Bernie Mac Show, Scrubs, Gilmore Girls) and produced by Forest Whitaker. Tomas Fuentes (Eduardo Verastegui) seems to have it all - he is an attractive, successful ad executive living in Los Angeles with a lot of disposable income. Boredom in his personal life leaves him traveling every chance he gets. It is not long before Tomas begins seeing women in different cities. He has Lorena (Roselyn Sanchez) who lives in Chicago and works as a lawyer; Cici (Sofia Vergara) who works as a bartender in the tropical city of Miami; and lastly, Patricia (Jaci Velasquez) who lives in NYC with her mother. All three women coincidentally decide to visit him in Los Angeles on the same weekend. They inevitably learn about one another, and hate Tomas for subjecting them to such circumstances. But the peculiarity does not end there - Tomas is drugged, kidnapped, and a shocking truth is revealed about Patricia and Cici's past lives. Two thumbs up!moreless

For the most part, the fast-moving pace, thankfully slight running time, attractive leads and infectious soundtrack distract from its many inconsistencies
