Cheyenne Takes Over, produced in 1947 and directed by Ray Taylor, is the eighth movie in a series featuring Cheyenne Davis (Lash LaRue). U.S. Marshall Cheyenne Davis is overworked and his boss demands that he take a vacation. Cheyenne's friend Fuzzy Q. Jones (Al St. John) recommends they go to the El Lobo Ranch, but when they arrive, the ranch foreman, Bart McCord (John Milton), curtly orders them to leave. They hit the trail, return to town, and stop at the local saloon. Saloon owner Fay Wilkins (Nancy Gates) fills them in on the local gossip, telling them that Wayne Dawson (George Chesebro), owner of El Lobo, has been behaving strangely and that he was seen with another man (Marshall Reed) who has mysteriously disappeared. Cheyenne grows suspicious and hires an actor named Delhaven (Lee Morgan) to pretend to be a long-lost brother of Wayne Dawson. He sends him to the ranch to investigate the whereabouts of the missing man and to determine the true identity of Wayne Dawson.moreless
