Chicago Boricua is a dramatic film released in 2004 based in Chicago's Humboldt Park. A Puerto Rican neighborhood gives an inside view of several different characters all trying to carry out their own personal goals. Lola (Aimee Garcia), an intelligent young woman with a bright future in college finds herself falling into the wrong crowd when she becomes involved with Willy (Ramses Jimenez). Tata (Christina De Leon), an overly ambitious beauty queen hopeful will do anything she can to win the crown. German (Eric Aviles), is an aspiring real estate agent who longs to succeed in the industry. These determined characters along with tough choices, desiring love, violence and family honor make for a dramatic movie where you will never know what will happen next. The characters are surrounded by rough street gangs, drugs, parents who want the best for them and the need to fight to try and make their dreams a reality without falling into the wrong crowd, making the film all the more real.moreless
