Children of the Damned, the sequel to Village of the Damned, was released in 1964. Six children are discovered with intelligence beyond the normal human scope. A group of scientists including Tom Lewellin (Ian Hendry) and David Neville (Alan Badel) whisks the children away to be studied, only to have them escape their confinements. All of the children are capable of using telepathy, and their parentage is strongly questioned, as all the mothers claim to have not been touched by any man. Through fear and misunderstanding, as well as a desire for power, the governments of each child's respective country seek to either control or destroy the children. Fighting breaks out between the military and the children, during which scientists note that the only aggression shown by the children is in self-defense. After studying the cells of one child, scientists realize the children are very much human, but advanced beyond current human standards, making them a blueprint of what humans could be in a million years.moreless
