Choices is a 1981 film starring Demi Moore in her first big screen debut. Although her role is minor, she gives an excellent performance as the cheerleading girlfriend of a hearing-impaired football player John Carluccio (Paul Carafotes). The film provides an excellent example of the teen angst that was so emblematic of 1980's. At the beginning of this film, John Carluccio is a straight-laced kind of guy - he gets good grades, is a star player on his varsity football team, he is kind to his girlfriend, and even plays the violin. Sadly, his nurse decides to forbid him from playing football one day, claiming that it will only worsen his hearing-impairment. Suddenly John is enraged with mixed emotions as he attempts to deal with his parents, teachers, friends, and his girlfriend. He becomes lost in this whirlpool of angst and starts hanging out with the wrong crowd. It is not long before John is fully engaged in drugs and crime. What will it take to bring him out of his miserable state?
