Christmas Carol: The Movie is a heartwarming and family friendly rendition of a Charles Dickens' novel. It is 1857 and almost Christmas in Boston where the film commences. After a small live action dialogue involving Charles Dickens (Simon Callow), the story begins in animation. A mouse named Gabriel carries the true embodiment of the holiday spirit as he maintains a positive outlook amidst the clash of social classes and struggles between the rich and the needy. By now the setting has moved to London, and the tale begins. Scrooge (Simon Callow) is wealthy man, but he is miserable and lonesome. Due to this, he has no compassion for his fellow-man and exerts his power solely for his own personal gain. It is up to the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future to show him the error of his ways and instill within him a spirit of kindness before it is too late.
