Christmas Do-Over can be described as a story of redemption. Kevin (Jay Mohr), the lead character, has not gotten over his ex-wife, Jill (Daphne Zuniga), or the fact that his career has not taken off the way he feels it should have. To make matters worse, it appears as if Kevin's circumstances have negatively impacted his relationship with his son, Ben (Logan Grove). However, things really get turned upside down after Kevin finds himself at his former in-laws' house for what is supposed to be a brief Christmas get together with Ben, Jill and her new uber-successful boyfriend, Todd (David Millbern). After making a random wish, Kevin is forced to "do-over" Christmas until he sees the error of his ways. Viewers who are familiar with the Charles Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol" will notice parallels between the Dickens' story and Christmas Do-Over, but they will not be watching a carbon copy of "A Christmas Carol."
