Circuitry Man is a postapocalyptic science-fiction film from director Steven Lovy. After World War III, the oceans have dried up and most of the Earth is a poisonous wasteland. The few surviving humans live underground where they find escape in the form of euphoria-inducing computer chips that interface directly with the human brain. Lori (Dana Wheeler-Nicholson) is working as a bouncer in a seedy club where her boss, Juice (Lu Leonard) is setting up a trade for some black-market chips. When the police raid the deal, Lori makes off with the chips. She heads to New York to sell the hot merchandise, with her sex android, Danner (Jim Metzler), close behind. Danner isn't the only one following Lori, however, as Plughead (Vernon Wells), a dangerous underworld boss, trails the duo in search of the chips that are rightfully his. He is addicted to the pleasure chips and will stop at nothing to get his next fix.
