PG-13
Citizen Duane is an underdog comedy following Duane Balfour (Douglas Smith) in a modern retelling of Cervantes' Don Quixote. From his father who was shot trying to warn the town of an imminent landslide of the town's very foundation to an eccentric uncle best known for betting all his money on a horse named "Glue Factory," the family is known for taking on impossible battles. Duane starts by trying to take on Chad Milton (Nicholas Carella) in the high school election for student council president. When he loses, "Operation Infinite Justice" turns its sights on the position of mayor of Ridgeburg, an office held by Mayor Kelly Milton (Rosemary Dunsmore). She's the one who approved shooting Duane's father when he became violent in his attempt to warn the community of the coming disaster. Enduring the town's patronizing interest to outright hatred, Balfour learns important lessons about politics, public service and growing up. The 2006 film was written by Jonathan Sobol and directed by Michael Mabbott.moreless
