CJ7 is a 2008 Hong Kong film directed by Stephen Chow about the mysterious toy a poor father gives to his son and how that toy changes both of their lives. The son, Dicky (Xu Jiao), begs his father for the new, popular toy, a robot named CJ1. But the father, Chow Ti (Stephen Chow), is just a poor laborer and cannot even afford to fix his rundown house, much less buy such a fancy toy. While Chow is rummaging through the junkyard, he stumbles upon a green orb and takes it home to Dicky. Later, the orb changes into a cute, little alien. Dicky names the alien CJ7, and the two become friends. Dicky, who the other students bully, takes CJ7 to school, hoping the little alien will help him make friends. When his plan backfires, Dicky rejects CJ7. But when tragedy strikes, CJ7 might be the only one who can save the day.
