Claire of the Moon is a 1992 romantic drama about one woman's awakening. Well-known author Claire (Trisha Todd) finds herself lonely and adrift, yearning for some time to focus on her creativity. Although she drowns herself in alcohol and casual affairs with men, her work has suffered lately. Somewhat reluctantly, Claire decides to attend a writer's retreat that is exclusively aimed at women. The retreat is beautiful and offers the peace that Claire expected. However, there is also a surprise waiting for Claire. Her roommate is famous psychologist and author, Noel (Karen Trumbo). Noel is the opposite of Claire in many ways: she is a lesbian and presents a strong, confident image. Although it seems as if Noel and Claire might clash, the two roommates begin to form a bond, talking into the night and exploring key questions about their lives, loves and art. Claire begins to realize that she feels a genuine attraction to the other woman, but Noel is not sure if she can risk her heart with Claire.moreless
