Clambake is a musical tale about a wealthy young heir that leads an alternate life to find a woman who will love him for who he is. Scott Heyward (Elvis Presley) is the son of millionaire oil tycoon Duster Heyward (James Gregory) and very accustomed to living the high life. But Scott wants to find a girl that will love him for who he is, so he trades places with Tom Wilson (Will Hutchins), a poor, awkward waterski instructor, to see if he will garner the same attention from the ladies. Scott's new identity immediately introduces him to Dianne Carter (Shelley Fabares), a nice young girl who, ironically, is looking for a rich husband. The heir in disguise sets his sights on winning Dianne's heart, entering the big local boat race, but his competition is the very rich and cocky James J. Jamison III (Bill Bixby), who is also looking to come away with Dianne. Arthur H. Nadel directs Clambake, one of Elvis's last films, featuring the legendary song and dance man leading up a various musical numbers.
