Clark Gable Collection: The Call of the Wild tells the tale of a man determined to forge a better and more prosperous life for himself. The story is based on the incredibly popular and acclaimed 1935 novel by Jack London, who took part in the Yukon Gold Rush himself. The book is based on the historical account of the Yukon Gold Rush, where the discovery of gold by prospectors led to an enormous rush of immigration from people aiming to make it big. Down on his luck, Jack Thorton (Clark Gable) takes a chance and adopts a sled dog named Buck, who was invaluable at the time due to the nature of the terrain near Klondike. The two form an uncanny bond as they travel through the Alaskan wilderness. Jack rescues a woman named Claire Blake (Loretta Young), and the three take off in search of gold after Buck helps Jack win the money that he needs for supplies.
