Classic Rhythm & Blues: Vol. 4 is a video collection of twenty live rhythm and blues and jazz performances from various world-renowned artists. Jazz artist Ben Sidran from the Steve Miller Band presents the film and adds his thoughts on each of the twenty tracks. The music starts with LA's Thurston Harris jamming to "Little Bitty Pretty One," and moves to the godfather of blues Low Down Dog doing top hit "Please, Please, Please." Ben then takes viewers back to the Doo Wap fifties when they see John Lee Hooker performing live to "Let Me Go." The oldies continue with "Let the Good Times Roll" and "Blue Monday" from Nick Gravienties and Down in the Bottom. Sirdan tells viewers why he thinks "A Long Road Ahead" is southern R&B's national anthem, right before Boom Boom and Dixie Chicken present their live version of the song. Baby Doo Caston, Low Down Dog, John Mayall, and Riding On The Law complete this R& B ensemble cast, giving viewers a complete line-up of the nations best-known artists performing classic hits live.
