Cleopatra's Second Husband is a dark drama, written and directed by Jon Reiss. When Robert (Paul Hipp), an art photographer, goes on vacation in rural New York with Hallie (Bitty Schram), his controlling wife, they hire a sexy couple, Zack (Boyd Kestner) and Sophie (Radha Mitchell), to house-sit for them. The vacation is meant to help the couple relax and get pregnant, but any relaxation afforded by the break is counteracted by the extreme chaos that they find at their home when they return. Their fish are dead, their house is a mess, and their house-sitters refuse to leave. Things get kinky in this darkly erotic psychological drama as Reiss tells the story of a man's shockingly perverse nervous breakdown and the drastic measures he takes to regain the illusion of control after his household has gone to pieces and he realizes that he is far from in charge. Sexual norms are defied as Cleopatra’s Second Husband grapples with a deeply twisted power struggle.moreless
