Clockstoppers is a 2002 science fiction film directed by Jonathan Frakes. When Zak Gibbs (Jesse Bradford) accidentally finds a wristwatch prototype in his father's (Robin Thomas) possessions, he uncovers a device that could change history. The watch, developed for the NSA by Earl Doppler (French Stewart) at Quantum Tech, has the ability to speed-up the user's molecules to the point where everything else appears to be standing still. When the NSA determines that the watch could be used against the USA, they order its destruction. Undaunted, Henry Gates (Michael Biehn), the head of Quantum Tech, decides to continue on with the development of the device in order to dominate the world. Unbeknownst to Gates, however, Doppler created two devices; sending one to his former colleague and Zak's father, Dr. Gibbs. When Gates finds out about the second device, he will stop at nothing to get it back. As the action heats up, Zak goes from using the device to impress Francesca (Paula Garces), a beautiful potential girlfriend, to escaping with their lives. Viewers will be riveted to their chairs by this fast-moving science fiction thriller.moreless
