Close Encounters of the Third Kind: 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition is a science fiction film directed and written by Steven Spielberg. The film tells the story of an Indiana electrical lineman named Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss). Roy and several others encounter a huge an unidentified flying object (UFO). Overwhelmed with fascination by his confrontation with the UFO, his behavior turns obsessive. Roy becomes more and more erratic and obsessive over the images causing his wife Ronnie (Terri Garr) to become angry and upset. Disapproving of his behavior, she takes their three children and leaves him. Meanwhile hundreds of people around the world become more and more haunted by the UFO activities and sounds. Scientist Claude Lacombe (Francois Truffaut) along with his interpreter, David Laughlin (Bob Balaban), begin to investigate the different occurrences. They start to follow a series of clues which leads them to a UFO in "Devils" Tower, Wyoming. Witnesses around the area say they hear the UFO making musical phrases.
