Club Paradise is a 1986 American comedy film by director Harold Ramis, starring comedian Robin Williams, Peter O’Toole, Rick Moranis, Jimmy Cliff, and iconic supermodel Twiggy. In the movie, Jack Moniker (Robin Williams) is a Chicago firefighter who is permanently injured when rescuing an angry German Shepard. He decides that it is time to retire, so he heads off to a small Caribbean island, St. Nicholas, where he befriends the owner of a run-down resort, Ernest Reed (Jimmy Cliff). Together, they work to renovate the hotel and turn it into a luxury resort, ‘Club Paradise,’ for wealthy American tourists. Greedy developers, zany proprietors, and a host of other set-backs pop up along the way, but the determined duo will not give up and viewers are in for some uproariously comedic situations as the two go against the odds. Club Paradise was nominated for a 1987 Razzie Award for Peter O’Toole’s performance as a supporting actor.
