Collateral is the 2004 action thriller blockbuster from acclaimed writer-director Michael Mann (Heat, The Insider, Public Enemies, Manhunter, Miami Vice). Max (Jamie Foxx, Ray, Law Abiding Citizen) is a cab driver in Los Angeles who wants to have his own limo company some day, and has been doing this as a 'part time job' for twelve years while he researches the best way to embark on his enterprise. One fateful night he has two chance encounters that change his life forever. The first is with beautiful district attorney Annie Farrell (Jada Pinkett Smith, The Nutty Professor, Menace to Society, Set It Off, Tales from the Crypt Presents Demon Knight) who he shares a searing moment with and establishes an instant connection. The other is with seemingly cool-as-ice businessman Vincent (Tom Cruise) who hires him to be his chauffer for the night to all his appointments ' and turns out to just be ice cold. Vincent is soon revealed to be a deadly hit man out eliminating witnesses and Max must both survive the night and figure out some way of stopping Vincent before he gets to his last witness ' Annie!moreless
