College Road Trip is a 2008 Disney comedy directed by Roger Kumble. Melanie Porter (Ravene Symone), a 17-year-old honors student, thinks that she wants to go to prestigious Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. after graduating from high school. She decides to go on a road trip to the school with her two friends, Nancy (Brenda Song) and Katie (Margo Harshman), to attend an interview with a college recruiter. Unfortunately, her overbearing father, James (Martin Lawrence), has other plans for her. He is afraid that he will lose his daughter if she goes so far away, so he wants her to study closer to home at Northwestern University. Therefore, he offers to take her on the road trip himself with the secret mission of changing her mind about where she wants to attend college. Although James thinks that he has a perfect plan, he quickly begins losing control when unexpected things happen during their journey.
