Come Undone is a sensual, dramatic film about a young woman embroiled in an affair with a married man. Anna (Alba Rohrwacher) has anything a girl could want. But her steady accounting job at a reputable insurance firm, and her even more steady lover Alessio (Giuseppe Battiston) doesn't seem to excite her; although he longs for a stable, long term life together, Anna feels the well has dried in their relationship. So when she meets Domenico (Pierfrancesco Favino), an older, and very alluring, but very married waiter, a mutual attraction is sparked almost instantly. Domenico and Anna embark upon a passionate affair, but as their meetings continue, Anna longs for more than a weekly visit at a local hotel, and Domenico is unwilling to leave his wife and the life they have built. As suspicions mount and their passion turns to resentment, the two fellow adulterers must take a look at their own lives and truly evaluate what they want. Silvio Soldini directs this powerful and sexual film depicting the realistic causes and effects of extra marital romances.moreless

Metacritic Score

  • 75

    San Francisco Chronicle

Never fails to be engrossing. That's because Soldini brings us vivid characters, and gets all the details right.

  • 75

Soldini is able to take the shopworn theme and keep it interesting and fresh despite its lack of new ideas. He's assisted by strong performances by his two leading actors.
