He manages to work his way up the ladder from NBC page to the successful producer of television hits such as The Newlywed Game andThe Dating Game, and win the heart of Penny (Drew Barrymore). Then he receives a visit from a mysterious stranger named Jim Byrd (George Clooney) who invites him to become a CIA assassin as his game show travels provide the perfect cover for his "hits" around the world.
