2005
Rating:

Constantine is a fantasy thriller film directed by Francis Lawrence based on Vertigo Comicsâ Hellblazer comic book series, which focuses on the mystical investigative skills of John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), a sarcastic and disparaging chain-smoker with a soul that even the devil himself, Lucifer, would collect personally. Given a death sentence with his highly advanced lung cancer, Constantine takes on the case of a young womanâs suicide and slowly notices that not only are the half-breed demons and angels causing trouble in Los Angeles but full breeds are making their way through the barriers. He works with Detective Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz), the identical twin sister of the victim, as they stumble upon a plot to bring Mammon, Luciferâs son, to this side. What doesnât help the cause is that no one believes them. It is a dangerous task to stop the arrival of Hell on Earth with no one safe as the demons set their sights on keeping Constantine, Angela, and their associates, including the reclusive librarian Beeman (Max Baker), alcoholic priest Hennessy (Pruitt Taylor Vince), and a hopeful Chas (Shia LaBeouf), out of the front lines.moreless
