Control is a thrillerdirected by Tim Hunter that tries to determine if it is possible to rehabilitate a sociopath. After years of childhood abuse, Lee Ray Oliver (Ray Liotta) has become a sociopath, who seems to have no capacity to have emotions. It does not take long for Lee to find himself in jail facing death row. Showing no emotion on his execution day it appears that Lee's life is now over. However, hours after his execution he awakes in the morgue to learn that he had only been given a sedative versus a lethal injection. Dr. Copeland (Willem Defoe) explains to Lee that he has been selected to be part of his experiment to determine if his newly invented medicine, Anagress, can cure a sociopath. Dr. Copeland gives Lee two choices; he can either agree to participate in his experiment or be given the lethal injection. Lee chooses life and immediately begins treatment. Once it is believed that his sociopathic tendencies have been alleviated, he is release into the public. They have altered his look so that he will not be recognized and keep track of him 24/7. As the movie progresses, major questions will be answered including does the medicine Anagress really work, can a sociopath be cured and can the past be forgotten.moreless
