Cop Land explores what happens when a town of police officers are enticed by corruption. In Garrison, New Jersey, Sheriff Freddy Heflin (Sylvester Stallone) has always wanted to be one of the NYPD officers that populate his town. Each day, they travel to work across the Hudson River to work while Freddy remains in Garrison. When one of the cops gets involved in an incident that could mar the reputation of the NYPD and uncover the truth of their mob connections, IA investigator Moe Tilden (Rober De Niro) asks Freddy to provide information that will reveal the cover up. At first, Freddy is reluctant to bring the cops to justice, but as the days wear on, he begins to see that his friends feel they are above the law. Will the cops get away with murder, or will the good-hearted Freddy choose the righteousness of law over the value of his friendships?
