1973
Rating:
PG
Cops and Robbers is a comic caper about two New York City policemen that try and pull of a huge heist. New York cops Tom (Cliff Gorman) and Joe (Joseph Bologna) are tired of living paycheck to paycheck, and have decided the best way to make sure they have the kind of nest egg they deserve is to steal it. So when famed mobster Pasquale "Patsy O'Neill" Aniello (John P. Ryan) wanders into their precinct, the boys start to pry into the nature of his business dealings. The reluctant Patsy proposes a scheme where they deliver $10 million worth of bonds to him, and in return Tom and Joe receive $2 million, and a life on easy street. Using a parade as cover and Central Park as the drop location, Tom and Joe set their plan in motion, but in this business, you never know what could go wrong. Aram Avakian directs this comedic gem that is very 70s and very New York.moreless
