Cops and Robbersons tells the story of two police detectives on a stakeout that have more trouble from a suburban family than their mobster neighbors. Osborn (Robert Davi) is a mob hit man who decides to move to the suburbs to keep his bloody dealings under the radar. However, the police are on to him, and old-timer Jake Stone (Jack Palance) and his green partner Tony Moore (David Barry Gray) are assigned to keep watch on the mobster's new home. They are allowed into the Osborn's neighbors house to do their work, but the Robbersons may be more than Jake and Tony can handle. Norman Robberson (Chevy Chase) is obsessed with television police shows and believes he can help with the wealth of knowledge he's gain from his boob tube education. His wife, Helen (Dianne Wiest), is a constant source of annoyance to Jake, and their daughter Cindy (Fay Masterson) and son Billy (Miko Hughes) won't leave the cops alone either. Jake and Tony must overcome the kooky family if they ever hope to get their hands on the nefarious mobster next door.moreless
