Country Music Holiday is a film loaded with country-style songs and dances with a music based story that fits nicely in between. Verne Brand (Ferlin Husky) completes his military service and returns to his hometown in Tennessee. He is already known there as a favorite local singer and hopes to go back to that career while also spending a lot of time with his girlfriend, Marietta (June Carter). Two army buddies have a contact in the music industry in New York and convince Verne to go there and try to make it big on the national scene. Once there the music agent starts to get Verne noticed in the tabloids by sending him out at night with lovely socialites. Marietta soon sees these stories about Verne and heads for New York to find out what is really going on. Will Verne give in to the big city temptations or see the value of his small town country upbringing? The excellent music and songs keep the story light and entertaining.moreless
