Crashing is a 2007 drama directed by Gary Walkow. For a while, it seemed like Richard McMurray (Campbell Scott) would become a literary sensation and top the bestseller lists for decades. After the excited response to his first novel, however, Richard struggles under the pressure to complete a second novel. As his writer's block grows into a dark cloud that takes over his life, Richard finds his marriage dissolving quickly. Homeless, penniless and starting to become hopeless as well, Richard is surprised to encounter two saviors. After giving a heartfelt lecture at a creative writing class, two aspiring young writers approach Richard and offer to let him live with them, free of charge. Flirtatious Kristen (Izabella Miko) and vibrant, unpredictable Jacqueline (Lizzy Caplan) are starstruck to have their literary idol living with them, and Richard finds that the beautiful young women are acting as his muses, bringing his writing powers slowly back to life.moreless
