Crazy Love is a 2007 documentary, which chronicles the true story of Linda Riss and Burt Pugach's relationship. Their story is told using archival footage, home movies, photographs, newspaper clippings and first-person interviews. The movie begins in 1957; Linda Riss is a young receptionist from Bronx, New York, and Burt Pugach is a 32-year-old married father and attorney. They fall in love at first sight. Riss, however, is initially unaware that Pugach is married. Riss carries on her relationship with Pugach for over a year, even after discovering that he is married, before finally breaking off the affair when she is convinced he will never divorce his wife. Pugach is desperate for a second chance with Riss, but when she refuses to see him and announces she is marrying another man, Pugach hires a thug to throw acid into her face. Riss's face was disfigured, and she was blinded in one eye; Pugach was sentenced to 15-to-30 years in prison. During his 14 year stay in prison, Pugach continued to harass Linda by sending her letters, however, less than one year after Pugach was released on parole, nobody could have predicted what becomes of Linda and Burt's relationship.moreless

The overall vibe is morbidly entertaining, though something of a downer, partly because it's unclear if Mr. and Mrs. Pugach know that they are such sick puppies, partly because it'...
