Crazy People is a 1990 comedy directed by Tony Bill and Barry L. Young. It follows an advertising executive named Emory Leeson (Dudley Moore) who has become fed up with his job and is beginning to literally lose his grip on sanity. When he finally suffers from a complete nervous breakdown and produces a set of crazy product slogans, he is put into a psychiatric institution by his friend and colleague Stephen Bachman (Paul Reiser). When a set of Emory's honest yet funny slogans accidentally get printed, he is suddenly in demand again. But Emory refuses to leave the hospital and go back to work because he has found a romantic interest in Kathy Burgess (Daryl Hannah), another patient. So if Emory won't go to work, the work goes to Emory. He sets up a makeshift advertising office in the hospital and hires his fellow patients to help him come up with more slogans. However, some of Emory's partners back at the firm, along with some of the sanitarium doctors, aren't quite so keen on what Emory's doing, and a conspiracy against his endeavor soon takes shape.moreless
