Creature From The Haunted Sea is a comedic horror film released in 1961 that parodies several gangster, spy and monster movies like Creature From The Black Lagoon. Secret agent XK-150 (Robert Towne) gets assigned a mission to infiltrate a complex operation full of greed and betrayal. XK-150 learns that Renzo Capetto (Antony Carbone), a ruthless Sicilian mafia leader, gave protection to two Cuban Army officers who stole all the gold in Cuba's treasury. One of his contacts, XK-120 (Esther Sandoval), tells him that Capetto plans to kill the officers and keep the gold for himself. XK-150's job is to infiltrate the Capetto mob and keep the gold under the control of the American allies. To complicate matters, there is a sea creature rumored to patrol the waters that the Cubans and Capetto's mob will travel to escape. XK-150 dismisses this as an idle legend and attempts to carry out his mission but, finds out later that it is true. Not only does he have to stop the gold smugglers, but he has to save himself from the beast.moreless
