Crimetime is a horror thriller directed by George Sluizer and released in 1996. Bobby McMahon (Stephen Baldwin) is an American actor who lands a role on a British television series called "Crimetime." The show is a reality program that offers reenactments of recent, grisly murders. When McMahon arrives in Britain, he learns that he'll be playing a mysterious serial killer who is still at large - one who seems to enjoy the attention that the media gives his crimes. The real murderer, Sidney (Pete Postlewaite), becomes addicted to McMahon's interpretation of his crimes and increases the frequency of his murders so he can watch them on "Crimetime" the following evening. Meanwhile, McMahon grows obsessed with his role; he covers the walls of his apartment with gory photographs and newspaper clippings about the murders and becomes absorbed in gruesome police reports. Before long, Sidney reaches out to Bobby directly and offers to coach him on "proper" murder techniques so to make "Crimetime" as realistic as possible. Sidney's head games soon blur the line between good and evil, distorting Bobby's sense of reality and drawing him further into a potentially lethal game of cat-and-mouse. He must learn to separate fantasy and reality if he hopes to escape with his life.moreless
