Crowley plays off of the legend of the famed British occultist to craft a dark, haunting horror movie. The film starts with an ordinary school teacher, Professor Haddo (Simon Callow), offering to take part in a virtual reality experiment. The experiment goes wrong and Haddo becomes possessed by the spirit of the infamous Aleister Crowley, unleashing the madman's unique mix of occult practices and depravity on the world once more. The possessed professor leaves chaos in his wake as Crowley turns to black magic in search of a 'scarlet bride' who will increase his power, turning his interest to Lucy Cudden (Lia Robinson). Combating Crowley is physicist Dr. Joshua Mathers (Kal Weber). The film will be of interest to fans of Bruce Dickinson, of Iron Maiden fame, because not only does the score include several of his and Iron Maiden's songs, but also because he helped to write the film. Overall, a good example of the horror genre which will appeal to fans of horror or those interested in movies dealing with the occult.moreless
