Cry Tough is a 1959 film that follows Miguel Antonio Enrico Francisco Estrada (John Saxon). Miguel Antonio is an ex-convict from Puerto Rico building up a respectable life post-prison. Since leaving the slammer, things are going well, until his ex-gang tracks him down. The Spanish Harlem thugs tempt him back into the group, ruining his new life. Back to his old ways, Miguel Antonio resumes his life of crime that landed him in jail in the first place. On top of rejoining the gang, he is married to a Cuban woman trying to stay in the country. Sarita (Linda Cristal) never gained her American citizenship, and must remain on the down-low to avoid being deported back to Cuba. Miguel Antonio must also deal with his relationship with his father (Joseph Calleia). His father does not want him reliving his criminal life, and is only looking out for his son. Paul Stanley directs this suspenseful crime drama.
