Cup Final is a 1991 Israeli film directed by Eran Riklis and starring Moshe Ivgy and Mohammed Bakri. Set during the 1982 invasion of Lebanon by Israel, the film tells the story of a young Israeli solder named Cohen (Ivgy). When Cohen is kidnapped by the Palestinian Liberation Organization, he finds that he and his captors share a love of soccer. Cohen was supposed to go on vacation to the world final soccer cup, but while in captivity he begins to bond with the PLO member captor (Bakri). Their political, ideological, and religious values could not be more different, but their humanity and their love of soccer brings them together. Unfortunately the Italian team wins the World Cup and the two end their quickly souring relationship with a drastic conclusion. Also starring Salim Dau, Bassam Zo'amat, and Yussuf Abu-Warda, Cup Final has received mixed reviews from critics.
