They have a system of schemes that they use to get money and food to keep themselves alive. One scam that Bill comes up with puts them in the path of Grey Ellison (Kelly Lynch) who immediately falls for their elaborate scam. Ellison thinks that she backed up over Bill and takes Bill and Curly Sue to her Chicago penthouse and treats them like royalty because of her guilty conscious. When Ellison's fiance figures out what has happened, he advises her to get rid of them. Bill understands that Curly Sue needs more than what he has to offer her and tries to get Grey Ellison to take her under her wing, but will Curly Sue get the life that she deserves?
